Experience Pony Trekking in the Outer Hebrides
Award Winning and BHS approved Pony Trekking Centre, located on the beautiful Isle of Lewis, in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.
Tràigh Mhòr Pony Trekking offers some of the finest beach riding in the UK . Our golden white sands and turquoise seas set against the dramatic sea cliffs are breathtaking. Together with ample opportunities to see the machair wildflowers, marine mammals, birds of prey and sea birds, this organised activity is a must to see and do when visiting the Outer Hebrides and is often the highlight of many of our visitors time spent over here, some of the words our clients have fed back to us in our reviews are in the photos.
We can cater for all levels of ages and ability and we have beach rides, trail rides and treks and pony experience days for all the family. We have ride and grooms, pony bumbles and beach paddles suitable from the under 5 yr olds right up to 1/2 day experienced beach rides and trails suitable for those who want to go a bit faster. We are happy to cater for groups. We offer private bespoke beach rides for that special occasion. These are popular in the evenings.

We are a small family run business that is off grid and employs a number of local young people.
We won the category Best Nature and Wellbeing Experience at the 2025 Visit Outer Hebrides Community Awards which we are a platinum member of. We are also British Horse Society Approved Trekking centre and are fully licensed and insured.
